Lately, you will not simply riped off the wrapper as you used to be. Instead, you will detach it carefully and neatly. I think it's a good behavior because we can re-use the wrapper for some other purpose later!

This time, we went for a Japanese lunch with them in Meridian Hotel, nearby Cyperport. The foods are nice, and the people we hang around are nice too. That made the afternoon time such a pleasant one !

You really grow up very fast. By 8 months old, you could stand on your own feet without much support. Not long later, you even tried to "walk"...Looking at your tiny body swaying left right like a drunk man, it's such a hilarious scene.

I really like it, when you clinched on me like this. You are not passive. In fact, you made sure you won't fall off from me. We have such a perfect match in this position, just like the key to open a lock. I'm the lock, and you are the key.

Although so many years had passed, I still feel terrible heartache to see that fresh wound on your left cheek. How that wound was formed will remain a mystery, although we do have a theory for it, but still, we can never confirm it.

By 6 months old, you could sit pretty well on your own then.

Mommy love to sit by the bed side and watched you nap like this. Sometimes I would stroke you bald head, sometimes I would touch your nose, sometimes I would kiss your forehead...but none of this would wake you up a bit.

Grandma came to visit you. I remember that was the 1st time she met you.

You are truly a sleeping angel at day time.

You love bath time, that you didn't want to get out from the water at times.

When you nearly 7 months old, you started to crawl on you belly first, then on your 4...ko-ko like to imitate you.

As you grow older, we could go for family outing more frequent then.

Luckily, you were not a difficult baby in daytime. But you were absolutely an impossible baby in night time. You would cried with no reason at night, sometimes 3-4 times per night, sometimes 6-7 times per night. Every night was like that until you reached 4 years old. We didn't know what's wrong with you, and that had became the mysterious X-files forever.

You became increasingly active and alert when you turned to 4, especially after you could roll over like ABC...I remember you always gave us that kind of "great surprise" look...

Grandma and auntie came to visit you. This was the first time you three met with one other.

You love to sleep in this rocking chair. In fact, daddy and I used to rock the chair (by leg) while we were taking our lunch or dinner.

By then, you and ko-ko had get more acquaintance to each other. You two could sit on the sofa and watched TV in peace.

You are the kind of baby whom the more ppl look at you, the more they like you...

At very young age (as young as 2 months old), you seem to be very alert to your surrounding, and the people who is around you as well.

I remember one night, I burped you as usual, after you've finished up your milk. Out of a sudden, you slowly turned your head and looked at me right in the eyes. It's like you were checking who burped you from behind. You scared me at first, then we looked at each other for quite some time, before you bowed your head down, must be tired, I guess.

That's one of my favorite photo...I still love it now, and I will love it forever.

Ko-ko dared not to touch you...but under mommy's encouragement, he reluctantly held you for the 1st time. And he kept giggled like he was holding a small animal in his arms.

You are a fast-developed baby, you started to roll over when you were nearly 3 months old.

I rarely have the chance to visit your classroom and take some photos of it. If not because of the open day, or this time, Project Based Learning (PBL) Showcase, I won't have the chance. So, I don't want to miss it.

That's 1E, at the 3rd floor.

After marking the attendance in classroom, the students were leaded to the dancing room for the 1st round presentation.

Each class assigned 2 teams (4 members in each team) to present their project. It's rather crowded and warm inside the dancing room, sorry the audiences had to surrounded you all.

About 20 minutes later, finally it's your team's turn to present. The topic is "Family Tree". The bottom right corner was made by you.

Daddy and I were so look forward to seeing your presentation. Just remember the things you have rehearsed in that morning is fine. (see daddy's image from the mirror?)

A bit nervous at the beginning, but went on well soon.

Son, you did it good. I overheard the man standing next to me said the same thing too.

Yo, recess was over. Got to go now...The students and parents were asked to go to the great hall this time to watch some performances.

Besides the singing part, there were some projects displayed in the hall as well.

You were particularly interested by this "Map of the Future's Community".

Besides "Family Tree", this is the other project your team had made, called "My Dream Playground". The swing structure was made by you, with daddy's help.

Every student was given a booklet to write down the things they saw, the things they have learnt, and their feeling about it...etc.

I Can Swim

You didn't struggle much to get to learn swimming. In fact, you pick up the skill steady and fast. Daddy and I are proud to see your progress after 5 months in the swimming school. Well done.

Today, your instructor removed the floating barrier and let every kid to swim as far as they can. And you had surprised us that you actually can swim over a straight pool at one shot. Your instructor pat your head at the end point, and he seemed very pleased with your achievement.

At the end of the lesson, he gave you 2 candies as a reward. I saw you jumping up and down happily for that. Well, guess we all happy for a different reason here.

Missing Hike

For this extra long summer holiday (due to swine flu, the school has been suspended since 12-Jun), you seem to miss many of your little friends from kindergarten.

There was once, you started to write invitation cards to your friends to ask them to come over to your future birthday party (will there be? I'm not so sure)

Amongst so many friends, I think you like Hike the most, you even love Hike's parents. (Why you love other people's parents? I'm so jealous)

It's disappointed that their graduation ceremony had to been cancelled due to the swine flu outbreak. Was it really that scary? I doubt so.

For the children, they just got to stop seeing one another abruptly, without saying proper good bye. Maybe they will forget one another after 1 or 2 years time, but I don't think that's the ending the children wanted, if they have ever been given a chance to make their own decision.

1st Adult Teeth

Calling Your Friend's Mommy

Last week, you came home with a super sunny happy face.

Then, you pull out an invitation card from your school bag. And you started to read aloud the information printed on it for me. Ok, I've got it. Your classmate, Elina had invited you to her birthday party held in USA Jumping Gym. Oh, that place...no wonder you were so thrill about it.

That whole evening, you've kept pestering me to call Elina's mom to confirm our attendance. But since the date was 2 weeks ahead, I told you I would do it a bit later. Well, sure you were not happy with my answer.

The next day, when I was fixing dinner in the kitchen, I heard you talking over the phone. So, I came out to check who you were talking to. Apparently, you were telling Elina's mom that you will be going to the birthday party, but you need to leave early because you need to attend your swimming class afterwards....

Recently, you have been reading some short stories for your Kumon's homework (3A level).

Some of the ancient Chinese stories are very inspiring and touching. It made me realize how important it is to cultivate certain good values and qualities in you while still young.

Here, taking this story as an example : kong rong rang li

Read the passage as below :-

In summary, this story was about a 4-YEAR OLD boy, named Kong Rong voluntarary picked the smallest pear among the all, and gave away the bigger pears to his other big brothers. His reasoning : I'm the smallest in the family, so I should eat the smallest pear.

MY MY, this is just a 4-year old boy. Isn't what he think and act incredible?

Being a keh-poh mom, of course I have many questions for you here...

Mom : So, which pear are your going to pick here?

You : (without a single hesitation) I will pick the biggest pear.

Mom : Don't you think you should give the biggest pear to your big brother, like kong rong did?

You : Emm...but I want to eat the biggest pear mah.

Mom : But kor-kor is bigger than you, you should give the biggest pear to him wo.

You : I know, but why I must give the biggest pear to him?

Mom : Cause you should show some respects to the people who is older than you lo.

You : Ok, I can give the biggest pear to kor-kor then.

Mom : That's a good boy. How about chocolate cookies? Will you give kor-kor the biggest cookies too?

Mom : Isn't that we've discussed about it just now? You should give the bigger portion to the people who is bigger than you.

You : But Kong Rong didn't give the biggest cookies to his big brothers wo.

Mom : Well, if the story goes on to cookies, he would too.

Emm...maybe Kong Rong won't give away the biggest chocolate cookies to his big brothers, if cookies is his favourite food. Would he? I really have no idea what a small boy would do in the ancient time.

Time change and so does the world. The children in today's world are more self-center and subsequently, grow up following a more individualistic path than the past generation did. If we want to live in a better world, I think certain values and qualities shouldn't have faded out like this, right.

5th Birthday

This is your 5th birthday, we held a private small party for you at home. There is nothing too fancy about it, but you have all our love and bless.

Ok, enough for the abstract love & bless, we made things more understandable to you. Precisely, we bought you your favourite chocolate cake. This one, serve not just as a birthday cake, but a Christmas cake as well.

Of course, bought you a present too. This year, mommy knew exactly what's the thing that you want. Just as expected, your face glows, and you jumped up and down when you see your dream toy.

Actually, this is not 100% a private party. Mommy had invited our new acquaintances, Lleyhan and his mommy and brother. They are so kind to join the celebration though a very short notice was given to them.

Ride on Your Own

We have been using the same tactic that we used on Ko-ko when it comes to 'teach' you how to ride a bicycle.

First, we detached one of the supporting wheels, left only one there. Then, we just let you ride on it every time you go to the playground at evening time. I think you have been riding on this re-condition bicycle for about 1 year.

Gradually, we saw you become less depending on that supporting wheel, especially when you made a turn around the cornor. Anyway, we want to wait some more time before taking away that wheel. After all, we think you are still small for this.

2 weeks ago, I went home earlier to check on you and ko-ko in the playground. I asked you if you want to ride on ko-ko's bicycle instead. You said ok. Then, I helped you to get on his bicycle that is a bit too high for you.

The first few times, you were a bit shaky on it. So, I have to follow you closely to prevent you from falling down badly. After a while, you can ride on your own already. Both of us were so happy that time.

This is the re-condition bicycle. There is no supporting wheel on the left hand side. Some parents thought the missing wheel was broken. And they asked us why we didn't get it fix. When they knew we removed it deliberately to 'teach' you how to ride independently, they were amazed to hear it. Although they think it's a brilliant idea, I have never seen any of them actually applied that on their kid's bicycle. Haha...

Daddy was here today too. Let's show him, shall we?

Daddy was still a bit worried about you. He walked behind you to want to protect you.

I have seen you ride on your own for several times by that time, so I am not as worried as Daddy.

As time pass, we see you're getting more confident on it.

Kumon Chinese

Daddy and I think you have the capability to pick up one more language. Thus, we let you join Kumon Chinese since early May.

After an assessment, you were asked to start from 5A level. Basically, you need to listen to CD and to read the sentences. I see no struggle in your learning at this stage.

By end Jun, your teacher given you another assessment. And she told me you have passed Level 5A with absolutely no doubt. The teacher said you progress faster than their expectation.

In fact, you scored straight A's in the assessment. Very good.

Level 4A will require more writing works, besides reading.

Students should be given 10 pages as homework everyday. And the standard completion time is 10-20min/10pages. At first, the teacher think your fine motor skill (writing) will not competence enough for you to meet the time requirement. So, the first week, she only gave you 5 pages as daily homework.

However, you seem ok in your writing. Thus, the teacher gave you 10 pages from 2nd week on wards. So far so good, you can complete 10 pages homework within 13-15 min.

After done, you need to write down your name and jot down the time you'd taken at the first page of the homework.

Oh yes, you have learn to write your Chinese name about 2 months ago. Luckily mommy didn't give you a very difficult name, did I?

Most of the time, I just sit back and watch on you from far. I seldom go over to listen to what you were talking about with other people, although I feel very curious when you talked too long with them.

Last Sunday, daddy took part in a badminton tournament and after the match, we all went to a seafood restaurant for dinner. Uncle Ryan, who we just get to know car pool with us. In the car, you started to talk to Uncle Ryan. From there...I have some idea of what your conservation with other people would go like.

You : Uncle Ryan, do you drink beer?

Ryan : Yes, sometimes I will. How about you?

You : No, I don't. It tastes bitter, and it's not healthy.

Ryan : Fine. You better not.

You : Where do you stay?

Ryan : I live in Tong Chung.

You : Tong Chung? Where is the place? Do you need to take a rocket to go there?

Dog Pei-Pei

Although you are a mature kid, you still hold on some babyish behaviours.

For example :-

1. Every morning, you insist to drink milk in a feeding bottle. You said the milk tastes no good in a cup.

2. You still need to put on diaper at night time's sleep. Although you pee before sleep and you stop drinking milk at night time, you can't control your bladder very effective yet. Well, you said you will try it again when you are 5 later.

3. When we are all at home during the weekends, you would insist I stay home to accompany you. You won't allow mommy to go out for a while to shop or do something. Daddy's company is not an acceptable alternative. Are you being too possessive? or still having the separation anxiety?

4. You still cling on the blanket that you used since 2 years old. You called it dog pei-pei (Dog 被被). Although mommy had bought another hippo pei-pei for you as a substitution, you still want to cling on your dog pei-pei every night.

This is your dog pei-pei. You can't sleep without it.

When you sleep, you have the habit to rub one of the particular cornor until a big ring was created and disconnected. And there you start to rub another ring again, next to the old ring.

I asked you why do you like to rub on the cornor? You said you are worried the blanket would "go away" after you sleep. That's why you want to make a hole and put your thumb in it, so it won't go anywhere.

When I go to check on you before I sleep every night, for sure I will see you put your thumb in the hole, like this. It gives you a sense of security, isn't it?

Lost Tooth in Accident

Last Tuesday night, you and Vincent ko-ko played wild games at home again.

Ko-ko pulled your legs too hard that you lost your balance and knocked on the edge of the balcony. You cried so loud, then you told me the front tooth at the lower jaw got loosen.

I shaked that tooth gently. Oh dear, it's true. You asked me what could we do to fix it? Sigh, there is nothing we could do. Just have to let it go.

2 days after the accident, that teeth gone. Luckily, you seem to forget about the ordeal, and continue to play wild with your ko-ko like things never happen again. Sigh, still haven't learn your lesson, have you?

Mommy feel so heartache to see a hole there...I don't know when your new tooth will come out? Maybe we need to wait 1-2 years time.

Mom : That's something I can't control lo..

You : So, where do I live before that?

Mom : Can't you remember?

You : Nope, where were I before you gave birth me?

Mom : Emm, I think you live in the heaven last time.

You : Heaven? Is that the place up in the sky, over the clouds there?

Mom : Yeah, that's the place.

You : Do I have wings too, like the angel?

Mom : Yes, I think so.

You : What was the things I did when I lived in heaven?

Mom : Can't you remember again?

You : Nope, I really can't remember now. So, what did I do up there?

Mom : I think you sing, dance, play all the time lah...pretty much like what you are doing in school now.

You : Ok, no need to read and write meh?

Mom : Maybe you need, I don't know lo.

You : (pause a while) Can you give birth me first next time?

Mom : This I can't control mah...

You : But I so want it, I want it, I want it lah

Mom : Fine, next time, you will be the first ok.

Actually, mommy could have elaborated this conversation a bit deeper and longer, but I better not to drag the mighty GOD in it lah.

As usual, the weather was burning hot throughout the year. So, anytime is a good time to play water, be it in the swimming pool or your own clothes-washing tub.

4th Birthday

How time does fly, William is 4 years old now.

Still feel like yesterday when I used to cuddle him as a baby...

He is big enough to appreciate a birthday party now. Therefore, we decided to hold a small birthday party for him in McDonald this year.

It's very convenient to hold a party in McDonald restaurant. All we need to do is to fix the date and time, pay HKD200 as deposit, then the restaurant will arrange everything from foods / drinks, small gifts to games activities. All we need to do is just to distribute the invitation cards that McDonald had provided and ordered a cake with discounted coupon.

We only invited William's class mates and some friends' kid to the party. We want to make sure all the little friends who came know one another well. And for the parents, they have topics in common to talk about too.

At 5.30pm, the guests started to show up.

The children like this balloon-doll very much. They threw and kicked it like a ball instead. Luckily it won't break and hurt anything.

He was checking the birthday cards...

and the presents as well...And I have to keep all of them safe for him.

Basically, a kid's birthday party is all about eating and playing.

Apparently, the children didn't eat fast food a long time. They enjoyed eating the foods very much.

After the 1st round eating, it's time to play together. This game required 1 kid to pair with 1 adult to perform the tasks that were asked to do.

The game is very easy. For example, each pair was asked to do elbow-touch-elbow.

oh, how sweet.

During the short break, this little boy and his mommy got to leave early.

Some kids came late, just in time to join the 2nd round games.

This game is more complicated. I didn't pay much attention on how to play it. I was too busy to capture their cute moments.

The children were very co-operative though. No body ran away in the middle of the game.

They just got to pay attention to what was told. Otherwise, they would lose.

Seem like some kids got it, but some didn't.

Ok, time for the traditional session, blow-and-cut the cake.

Of course the birthday boy had to be seated in the center.

Suddenly I realized how good is that McDonald 姐姐. She got that kind of 'super power' to make the children focus and listen to everything she said.

She asked them to make different silly faces to the camera, and they followed...

He was asked to close his eyes and made a wish. I'm not sure if he understand what a wish means? Anyway, he did whatever McDonald 姐姐 asked him to do.

The 4 of us are like superstar. 2 cameras were pointing at us at the same time. First, we have to look at the McDonald's instant camera.

Then we turned to the other camera who serve as a backup. I like both of the photos. It's not easy to take nice family photo like this 2.

Hello, when can I eat the cake?

While another McDonald 姐姐 cut the cake in pieces to distribute to the guests, William need to return some small gift to his friends too. Boy, they really line up to get the free gift. How well behave !! Shameful for the adults who didn't.

The 2nd round eating was mostly to consume the cake as much as they can. The cake was 3 pounds big. Considering only 40% of the people show up in the party, the cake was a bit too big.

Amazing, see how much foods these kids can eat...

After eating full, it's their free activity time. We just let them played around until the time was about to over at 7.30pm.

This balloon-doll is not a FOC gift nor part of the decoration, but cost me extra HK20. I think it's quite expensive, but since all the kids like it so much, that's ok then.

Special thanks to this McDonald 姐姐. She deserved the credits for making this party a lively and joyful one.

The birthday party didn't cost a bomb. So, I think it's pretty worth it.

Silent Night

We went home late from an X'mas open house of a friend that night.

William was obviously very sleepy, but he insisted to wait for me to tuck him to sleep.

After taking a quick shower, I came out and saw him already fell asleep on the sofa. He look so cute...couldn't help but to take out the camera again.

Sleep in heavenly peace....just like the way he sing 'Silent Night'.

My Brother and I

How to describe my relationship with my brother? Sometimes I like him, sometimes I don't.

Anyway, mummy always remind me that he is the only brother I have in this world. And therefore, I should love him no matter what. I will try to do that, though it's not that easy some of the time.

However, most of the time, I like Vincent Ko-ko's company too. It's so much fun to have him playing around with me. That can make a simple outing a fun trip.

After walking a long time, we took a rest in this garden. And naturally, we won't just stop and rest like daddy and mummy did.

Daddy and Mummy took us to Tai-Po Kau Nature Reserve again. We got to see the black sheeps that live near to the lake side. There are many sheeps now if compared to the last time, and the baby sheeps had grown up a lot too.

William did talk to the sheep. He spoke very soft that I couldn't hear him clear enough. But I guess it should be something like below...

My First Fish

Mummy brought us to the wet market this morning. She promised Vincent Ko-ko she would buy a fish for him. Naturally, she will buy one for me too. Otherwise, I will be very unhappy.

We didn't take a long time to pick for our fish. 10 minutes later, mummy paid and we carried our fish home. She said the fish we bought is called "fighting fish". And they can survive under the robust condition. I suppose it's good for all of us to take care of them.

The fish cost HKD10 each.

My fish is blue color. I deliberately put a toy turtle inside the bottle to accompany it.

Nandi's 4th Birthday Party

We were invited to join Nandi's 4th Birthday party on one Saturday afternoon. They party was held in an international college where her father is teaching there. Any place but McDonald restaurant sound as fresh as a daisy to me.

Despite many encouragement, Vincent won't want to go inside the water without some sort of supporting aids. And it's too bad I didn't bring my swim suit along. So, I couldn't support him in the pool.

Luckily, I've found an inner tube somewhere around the pool. Thank God it could still be used.

After I pushed him to the water, he was still a bit nervous at the beginning...

After a while, he was all so relax and enjoy then.

The mother of these kids are good friend to each other since Uni time. Coincidentally, they married the man whose sirname is Chin. So, naturally, these children are all Chin too, like real siblings.
