International Day

September-2006
*
The kindergarten held a "International day" celebration party somewhere in last September. The parents were encouraged to contribute any flags / toys / foods / snacks that can best represent a country. And it would be good too if we can dress up and groom our kids in traditional costume to add more fun in it.
*
Need not to elaborate in detail, the purpose of this theme was clear to everybody. Simply saying, it's a kind of portluck party in the name of multinational celebration.

Left to right (as told by William) :
Sing Siong, Ms Yew (class assistant), Yang Yang, Yee Ying, Jun Ting, William, Nandy, Melody, Zheng Zheng, Mr. Greg (class teacher), Adrian

Apparently, none of William's classmate (inclusive William) was dressed up any special than usual.

William said they were sitting there to watch some sort of 'show'?

Some seem to like the foods, some didn't.

It's a rather short notice. So I guess that's why most of the busy parents didn't have enough time to prepare for it. I want to be more supportive next time. Emm...maybe I will buy a Malaysia flag when I fly home later. Or, look for some traditional toys / items that can best represent Malaysia, just in case it is needed one day.

A Cute Story

I came home last night, as usual, asked you how you have been in the school. When I simply asked : did teacher tell you any story for today? And here you recite, with your babyish tone and body gestures...

Three-little-monkeys <raise up 3 fingers>, jumping-on-the-bed
One-fell-down, and-bumped-his-head <touch forehead>
Mommy-call-the-doctor <thumb touch ear, little finger touch mouth>, and-the-doctor-said
No-more-MONKEY <wag 2nd finger to show 'NO'>, jumping-on-the-bed

My eyes wide opened, jaws dropped...couldn't believe my ears on what you were telling me. Then, you continue...

Two-little-monkeys, jumping-on-the-bed
One-fell-down, and-bumped-his-head
Mommy-call-the-doctor, and-the-doctor-said
No-more-MONKEY, jumping-on-the-bed

Yes, I hear you loud and clear this time...And you continue some more...

One-little-monkey, jumping-on-the-bed
One-fell-down, and-bumped-his-head
Mommy-call-the-doctor, and-the-doctor-said
No-more-MONKEY, jumping-ON-THE-BED <said louder>

This time, I could remember it well enough.
Really, I couldn't help but exclaim and give you a big hug and a big kiss and a big applause.

This is very good, son. I'm very proud of you.

I wish I could have tape-recorded it down
